Hardin County ESD 4 is making progress on the new Batson Fire Department Training Center / Shelter. This facility will be an important addition to our community, providing space to support fire department training and serve as a shelter when needed.

Planning and preparation continue as we move toward construction. The architect has completed all building drawings, the south driveway has been poured, and the concrete forms for the building are in place. The project is currently awaiting the installation of underground plumbing before the concrete slab can be poured. All structural metal for the building has also been purchased, and bids are being accepted for the building's erection once the slab is complete.

We anticipate completion around mid-2027, with the station expected to open around that same time. We look forward to sharing additional updates as the project progresses and getting closer to bringing this new facility to our community.
